Updating mail account for SmarterMail - Outlook 2003

How to change an existing mail account to work with SmarterMail if you are using Outlook 2003

Other versions of Outlook will be very similar. For other email clients like Mac Mail and Thunderbird please refer to their help documentation.

Step 1

In Outlook, click on the 'E-Mail Accounts...' option under Tools: -

Select 'View or change...' and click Next

Highlight the account you want to change and click Change.

Change your account details.

  • For SmarterMail you need your full email address as the User Name.
  • If your password was changed during migration to meet the minimum security requirements, enter the new password.
  • Incoming mail server: mail.rezolve.eu
  • Outgoing Mail Server: mail.rezolve.eu. (If your ISP has provided you with an Outgoing Server, e.g. smtp.broadbandprovider.co.uk, use this instead.)

Step 5

Click on 'More Settings...'.

If you set your outgoing server to 'mail.rezolve.eu' you must tick the box for 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication', and choose 'Use same settings...'. Without this you won't be able to send emails.

If you are using your ISP's mail outgoing mail server you may not need to do this. Check your ISP's documentation for details.

Click OK to close the advanced settings window.

Finish

If you set up a POP3 account you can use the 'Test Account Settings...' button to test sending and receiving emails.

Click 'Finish'
